YOUR BUSINESS SALE
Document Customer Concentration Before Selling Your Business
One strong customer can help you build a company and make a buyer hesitate. Show the relationship accurately so concentration becomes a topic to assess, rather than a surprise in diligence.

Measure more than the sales share
Prepare a customer summary by year with revenue and gross profit. Identify linked companies so several billing names do not hide a single economic relationship. See Memphis Business Brokers Team for sale guidance.
Explain whether work comes through a contract, purchase orders or informal repeat business. A long relationship and a binding commitment are different things.
Describe what could change
Record renewal dates, pricing reviews and key contact relationships. Identify which staff maintain the account when you are not available.
A buyer may ask for transition support or different payment terms when retention is uncertain. Assess those terms with your advisors rather than focusing only on the offer price.
Protect details during the process
Use an anonymized summary in early discussions. Share customer identities and agreements through a controlled process after confidentiality protections are in place.
Keep serving the account while exploring the sale. Attempts to manufacture a last minute improvement can create more questions than a clear explanation of the existing relationship.
Bring your questions to the conversation.
